'ఐసీసీ.. భారత్‌లో టోర్నీలను నిషేధించాలి'

భారత్లో భద్రతపై పాకిస్థాన్ మాజీ క్రికెటర్ జావెద్ మియాందాద్ కీలక వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశాడు. అంతర్జాతీయ జట్లు ఇండియాలో పర్యటించకూడదని ఐసీసీని కోరాడు.

భారత్-పాక్ మధ్య మాటల యుద్ధం కొనసాగుతోంది. ఇటీవల స్వదేశంలో టెస్టు సిరీస్ నిర్వహించిన పాక్ ఆ తర్వాత భారత్లో భద్రతపై పలు వ్యాఖ్యలు చేసింది. పీసీబీ ఛైర్మన్ ఎహ్సాన్ మణి కీలక వ్యాఖ్యలకు తోడుగా ఇప్పుడు పాకిస్థాన్‌ మాజీ కెప్టెన్‌ జావెద్‌ మియాందాద్‌ ఇండియాపై విషం కక్కాడు. అంతర్జాతీయ జట్లు భారత్‌లో పర్యటించకూడదని ఐసీసీని కోరాడు.

"భారత్‌లో ఏం జరుగుతుందో ప్రజలంతా తెలుసుకోవాలి. అక్కడ నిర్వహించే అన్ని టోర్నీలను ఐసీసీ నిషేధించాలి. పర్యాటకులు పాకిస్థాన్‌ కన్నా భారత్‌లో పర్యటించడమే ప్రమాదకరం. ఆటగాళ్లంతా ఈ పరిస్థితులను ఖండించాలి. అక్కడ ఏం జరుగుతుందో అందరికీ తెలుసు. పాకిస్థాన్‌ తరఫున నేను మాట్లాడుతున్నా. భారత్‌తో అన్ని క్రీడా సంబంధాలు రద్దు చేసుకోవాలి. ఇతర దేశాలూ ఇలాగే చేయాలి."

ఇటీవల పాక్‌ క్రికెట్‌ బోర్డు ఛైర్మన్‌ ఎహ్సాన్ మణి కూడా ఇలాంటి వ్యాఖ్యలే చేశాడు. పాక్‌లో టెస్టు సిరీస్‌ నిర్వహించడంపై అతడు మాట్లాడుతూ భారత్‌లో భద్రత కరవైందన్నాడు. మణి వ్యాఖ్యలకు బీసీసీఐ కోశాధికారి అరుణ్‌ ధుమాల్‌ కౌంటర్‌ ఇచ్చారు. స్వదేశం వదిలి ఎక్కువగా లండన్‌లో ఉండే నీలాంటి వ్యక్తి భారత భద్రత విషయాలపై మాట్లాడటం తగదని హెచ్చరించారు.

పాకిస్థాన్‌ దశాబ్దం తర్వాత స్వదేశంలో శ్రీలంకతో టెస్టు సిరీస్‌ నిర్వహించింది. ఈ సిరీస్‌ను పాకిస్థాన్‌ 1-0తేడాతో సొంతం చేసుకుంది. 2009లో శ్రీలంక జట్టుపై ఉగ్రదాడి అనంతరం పాకిస్థాన్‌లో పర్యటించడానికి ఇతర క్రికెట్‌ దేశాలు నిరాకరించాయి. కాగా, శ్రీలంక అక్టోబర్‌లో అక్కడ పర్యటించి మూడు వన్డేలు, మూడు టీ20ల సిరీస్‌లు ఆడింది. తాజాగా టెస్టు సిరీస్‌ ఆడి ఓటమిపాలైంది.

STORYLINE:
The Toronto Blue Jays introduced free agent signing Hyun-Jin Ryu on Friday afternoon at the Rogers Centre.
The Blue Jays announced earlier Friday they'd signed the 32-year-old left-hander to a four-year deal worth US$80 million.
Ryu, who turns 33 in March, spent his first seven years in the majors with the Los Angeles Dodgers after coming over from South Korea and signing a $36 million, six-year contract before the 2013 season.
Ryu was 14-5 with a major league-best 2.32 ERA for the Dodgers last season. He started for the National League in his first All-Star Game and finished second in Cy Young Award voting to New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom.
Toronto is home to more than 73,000 people of South Korean descent, according to the 2016 census.
