అంతర్జాతీయ టీ20ల్లో అత్యధిక పరుగులు సాధించిన బ్యాట్స్​మెన్​ జాబితాలో అగ్రస్థానం సంపాదించాడు రోహిత్​ శర్మ. దిల్లీలోని అరుణ్​జైట్లీ స్టేడియంలో బంగ్లాతో జరుగుతోన్న మ్యాచ్​లో ఈ ఘనత సాధించాడు.

టీ20ల్లో అగ్రస్థానం కోసం విరాట్​ కోహ్లీ-రోహిత్​ మధ్య చాలా రోజులుగా పోటీ కొనసాగుతోంది. అయితే ఈ మ్యాచ్​లో విరాట్ రికార్డును అధిగమించాడు రోహిత్​శర్మ. ఈ జాబితాలో రోహిత్‌(2,452) తొలి స్థానం దక్కించుకొని... కోహ్లీ(2,450) రెండో స్థానానికి నెట్టాడు..

2007లో పొట్టి ఫార్మాట్​లో అరంగేట్రం చేశాడు రోహిత్. దాదాపు 12 ఏళ్ల కెరీర్​లో ఈరోజు మ్యాచ్​తో కలిపి 99 టీ20లు ఆడాడు. ఫలితంగా ధోనీ(98) రికార్డును అధిగమించాడు. ఎక్కువ టీ20 మ్యాచ్​లు ఆడిన ఆటగాళ్ల జాబితాలో షాహిద్​ అఫ్రిదీ(99)తో కలిసి రెండో స్థానాన్ని పంచుకున్నాడు. వీరిద్దరి కంటే ముందు షోయ​బ్​ మాలిక్​(111) మొదటి స్థానంలో ఉన్నాడు.

బంగ్లాపై తొలి టీ20లో రోహిత్​ శర్మ దుమ్ములేపుతాడని ఆశించిన అభిమానులకు నిరాశే ఎదురైంది. ఆరంభంలోనే 2 ఫోర్లతో దూకుడుగా ఆడిన హిట్​మ్యాన్​.. కేవలం 9 పరుగులు( 5 బంతుల్లో) చేసి ఔటయ్యాడు. షఫియిల్​ ఇస్లాం బౌలింగ్​లో ఎల్బీగా వెనుదిరిగాడు.

ఇప్పటికే అంతర్జాతీయ టీ20ల్లో అత్యధిక అర్ధశతకాలు సాధించిన ఆటగాళ్ల జాబితాలో టాప్​లో ఉన్నాడు కోహ్లీ. ప్రస్తుతం 22 హాఫ్‌ సెంచరీలతో ముందంజలో ఉండగా, రోహిత్‌ రెండో స్థానంలో ఉన్నాడు. అంతర్జాతీయ టీ20ల్లో రోహిత్‌ నాలుగు శతకాలు, 17 అర్ధశతకాలు కలిపి మొత్తం 21సార్లు 50కి పైగా పరుగులు చేశాడు. ఈ మ్యాచ్​లో హాఫ్‌ సెంచరీ సాధిస్తే కోహ్లీ సరసన చేరతాడని అభిమానులు భావించారు. అయితే వచ్చే రెండు మ్యాచ్​ల్లో కనీసం రెండు హాఫ్‌ సెంచరీలు సాధిస్తే.. విరాట్​ రికార్డు బ్రేక్​ అవుతుంది.

"It's a lot of blood, sweat and tears but it's a concept that we ideate around. We get the look and feel of whatever the host city is. So it's really important that we take some of the values of the host city in terms of the look and feel and then we do a kind of big stage build up. And we try and do the EMAs differently every year. So we want to try and make sure that it's always fresh and new for our audience and doesn't feel similar to what they had before. And so that's a really important part of the concept."

"The EMAs is really a global phenomenon. It's in 180 countries, 450 million homes and 350 million fans cross social media and so it's really important that we cater for all of that audience. So making sure that we have got a diverse group of performers is really key to making it a successful EMAs."

Sears: "I think she's going to bring a lot of energy, she's going to bring a lot of excitement. I think already we've from some of the rehearsals and some of the promos that it's going to be a really exciting time for her to be hosting and we're really glad to have her."

STORYLINE:
SEVILLE GETS READY TO HOST THE 26TH ANNUAL MTV EMAS
Last minute preps were underway in Spain Saturday for the 26th annual MTV EMAs. Taking place in Seville on Sunday evening, rehearsals and final adjustments were in place ahead of the live show.
Speaking on the shows circular red carpet Viacom Senior Vice President Lee Sears explained the concept behind this year's show.
"We get the look and feel of whatever the host city is," said Sears. So we want to try and make sure that it's always fresh and new for our audience and doesn't feel similar to what they had before. And so that's a really important part of the concept."
Hosted by singer, songwriter and actress Becky G, this year will see performances from pop superstar Dua Lipa, Seoul based boygroup NCT 127 and Niall Horan performing his latest single 'Nice to Meet Ya'.
American singer songwriter Halsey will also perform as well as Ava Max who is making her EMA debut and Best New and Best Push nominee Mabel.  
Mabel, whose parents are musicians Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey, confirmed that they would probably be watching her, but said,
"Yes, my parents are musicians, but I've very much been on my own path and always had my own thing and made my own music and I have never worked with them in any sense, so like it's coincidental in a weird way and yes,it's always what I dreamt of doing.
"Being up for three EMAs is very surreal, I've worked really hard over the last few years and so has my team to be able to be at the EMAs and do things like this, so I'm just so grateful to even be nominated."
In keeping with the Spanish setting, Akon will perform 'Como NO' from his first Spanish language album as well as Spanish artist Rosalia.
Ariana Grande leads the nominations once again with nods in seven categories including, Best Artist, Best Pop, Best Live and Best Song for '7 Rings' . She is closely followed by Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X and Sean Mendes who all have six nominations at this year's awards.
Rock icons Green Day performed at the traditional Saturday night pre-concert as part of 'MTV World Stage Seville' at the city's Plaza de Espanna.
