2. SOUNDBITE (English) Greta Thunberg, Swedish climate activist:
"We must remember that as long as we do not treat this crisis as a crisis, and as long as the facts and the science are being left completely ignored, then we will not be able to solve this crisis. We need to understand the urgency of the situation and we need to see this from a holistic point of view. And before we came here, we had a few demands for this with and of course, those demands have been completely ignored. But we expected nothing less because as I said, as long as the science is being ignored, as long as the facts are not being taken into account, and as long as the situation is not being treated as a crisis, then the world and business leaders can of course, continue to to ignore the situation and they don't have to do anything because they are not being held accountable."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Greta Thunberg, Swedish climate activist: ++STARTS ON WIDE, ZOOM IN, INCLUDES REPORTER QUESTIONS++
(Question from reporter): "Greta, I wondered how it felt to be publicly insulted by the American president (Donald Trump) and the US Treasury Secretary (Steve Mnuchin). What effect that have on you?
"Of course, no effect. We are we are being criticized like that all the time. And of course, if we would care about that, then we wouldn't be able to do what we do."
(Reporter): "It's water off a duck's back. So it's water off a duck's back, it goes straight over your head?"
"Yeah, of course. I mean, we cannot care about those kinds of things if we are, we have put ourselves in the spotlight and then we know that as we said, people do not understand the situation. I mean, the situation is not being treated as the crisis it is. And then, of course, people will criticize us because we are the ones who who are telling this since basically no one else is telling this. So of course we will receive these kinds of things. I mean, it's horrible, but..."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Greta Thunberg, Swedish climate activist:
"We are not in a position to say whether Davos is is good or bad from that perspective. I mean, we just took this opportunity to go here because this is where many world business leaders are gathered and we are not in a position to say such a thing."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Greta Thunberg, Swedish climate activist:
"Of course, my message to India is the same as to every other country as I don't focus on the specific countries, I haven't done before. Just that we need to listen to the science and we need to treat this crisis like the crisis it is."
8. SOUNDBITE (English) Greta Thunberg, Swedish climate activist: ++STARTS ON WIDE, ZOOMS IN++
"Of course, this is the right audience. Everyone is the right audience. I mean, both the finance, the business sector and and the political sector, of course everyone needs to do something so everyone is the right audience. We shouldn't be focusing about who's, which sector is most responsible, which sector has to do most, because we need to push from every direction and this change needs to come from every direction."

STORYLINE:
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on Friday dismissed the US Treasury Secretary's comments on the validity of her advice on climate change saying they had "no effect" on her.
"We are being criticized like that all the time and if we would care about that we wouldn't be able to do what we do," the teenage activist told journalists at a Q&A session in Davos.
Steve Mnuchin said on Thursday Thunberg was in no position to give economic advice until she’s gone to college and come out with an economics degree.
At a briefing at the World Economic Forum, Mnuchin took a swipe at the 17-year-old environmental campaigner for her recommendation that both the public and private sectors should divest from fossil fuels.
When asked how that would affect the U.S. economic model, Mnuchin took a swipe at Thunberg.
“Is she the chief economist? Who is she? I’m confused,” he said. Then following a brief pause, he said “it was a joke.”
"After she goes and studies economics in college, she can come back and explain that to us,” he concluded.
“We cannot care about those kinds of things,” Thunberg said Friday of the condescending barb, insisting that her priority was drawing attention and action to concerns about global warming.
Over the past year, Thunberg has taken issue with many aspects of U.S. policy, not least President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the country out of the Paris accord to limit global warming.
On Friday Thunberg said that actvists had had a few demands for the WEF forum before joining it "and of course, those demands have been completely ignored."
She said that didn't come as a surprise.
"We expected nothing less because as I said, as long as the science is being ignored, as long as the facts are not being taken into account, and as long as the situation is not being treated as a crisis, then the world and business leaders can of course, continue to to ignore the situation and they don't have to do anything because they are not being held accountable."
Thunberg, who was selected as Time’s Person of the Year for 2019, has returned to the World Economic Forum’s annual summit in Davos, Switzerland, this week to press her call for businesses, world leaders and others to take action in the face of scientific evidence showing that temperatures on Earth are rising.
She spoke to reporters along with four other young climate activists, before they set off through the streets of Davos for the latest weekly “Fridays for Future” campaign that she launched.
At the news conference, Thunberg sought to share the spotlight, deferring to her fellow activists: Vanessa Nakate of Uganda, Loukina Tille of Switzerland, Luisa Neubauer of Germany, and Isabelle Axelsson of Sweden.
