Officials started demolishing the four-storey building

The UIT and police decided to demolish his four-storey residence after he failed to appear at the UIT office on January 25. However, his wife Nisha Khan responded to the UIT notice, claiming that the building was registered in her name.

However, UIT records revealed that owing to a sale permission issue, transfer of ownership was not possible for the building.

City police personnel and UIT staff arrived at the spot today morning along with excavators and dumpers to begin the demolition. However, the officials themselves were demolishing the roof.

According to reports, Khan had also got shops built at the ground floor of his four-storey building.

The police had also constituted multiple teams and sent them to several states for Khan's arrest, along with keeping his close contacts under surveillance.

Unable to nab Khan, the police had turned towards the UIT, which conducted an inspection of the building. Based on its report, the UIT issued a notice to Khan to appear at its office before 3 PM on January 25.

Director general of police (DGP), Rajasthan ML Lather had also announced a Rs one lakh reward for Khan's arrest. The police had released posters announcing the award for any information contributing towards Khan's arrest.

According to reports, Khan had links with the BJP, which is currently in the opposition in the state. He was said to be an active member of the party's minority front, and has also been made an office-bearer. However, following opposition to his history-sheeter tag, he was removed from the post.
