The hearing in the Patna High Court, which sought a reply from the state and Central Government over the issue of bringing back the stranded students from Kota has been deferred till May 5. The High Court bench led by Justice Hemant Kumar Srivastava has given a week to the Central Government to reply on the issue of the students who are stuck in lockdown. This comes as Central Government mentioned that a hearing in connection with migrant labourers is pending in the Supreme Court.

The petition filed by Ajay Kumar Thakur stated that stranded students in Kota are at a high risk of Covid-19 infection and are in a state of fear and depression. The Court had earlier ordered the State government to meet all the needs of the stranded students in Kota.
