President Ram Nath Kovind extends greetings on 72nd Army Day

President Ram Nath Kovind greeted the officers and troops of the Indian Army on the occasion of Army Day.

"On Army Day, greetings to the valiant men and women of the Indian Army, to veterans and to families of those who have worn the uniform. You are our nation's pride, the sentinels of our liberty. Citizens sleep securely knowing you are ever awake and ever vigilant #PresidentKovind," the official Twitter handle of the President of India read.

PM Modi greets troops on Army Day 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his wishes to the Indian Army on the occasion of Army Day 2020 and said that our Army has risen to the occasion and has done everything possible to help people in need.

Taking to Twitter, Modi shared a video posted by Chinar Corps of Indian Army, featuring Army persons and civilians carrying an expecting mother, Shamima on a stretcher through heavy snow.

"Our Army is known for its valour and professionalism. It is also respected for its humanitarian spirit. Whenever people have needed help, our Army has risen to the occasion and done everything possible. Proud of our Army. I pray for good health of Shamima and her child," Modi tweeted.

In the video shared by the Prime Minister, Chinar Corp has stated that over 100 Army persons and 30 civilians carried Shamima on a stretcher who was in a need of emergency hospitalisation.

For four hours the Army persons along with the civilians walked along through the snow. The baby was born at the hospital and both mother and child are fine, said Chinar Corps, Indian Army. 

Meanwhile, Army Day celebrations are underway at the Army Parade ground, Delhi Cantt. Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane also conferred medals upon the jawans.

Gautam Gambhir extends greeting on Army Day

Former cricketer and BJP lawmaker Gautam Gambhir on Wednesday extended his greetings to the Indian Army personnel on the occasion of Army Day.

Gambhir took to his Twitter to quote Captain R Subramanium and said: " You have never lived until You have almost died, And for those who choose to fight, Life has a special flavour, The protected will never know!!! " - Capt R Subramanium. #Armyday".

Rajnath Singh greets Indian Army personnel on Army Day 2020

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday extended his greeting to the Indian Army personnel on the occasion of Army Day, 2020. The Defence Minister shared a photo with the Indian Army personnel on his twitter handle.

"On Army Day today, I salute all valiant Indian Army personnel and recall with pride their indomitable spirit, valour and sacrifices in making India a safer place. #ArmyDay2020," Singh tweeted.

Earlier today, CDS General Bipin Rawat along with Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane paid tribute at the National War Memorial on the occasion of Army Day.

Along with CDS and Army chief, chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria and Navy chief Admiral Karambir Singh also paid tribute here.
